Losers Write History

IMG-0747.jpg

Students in this class were assigned books that challenged the age-old idea that winners will always write history and encouraged students to rethink the ways historians write history. These assignments were all about how to write history for the public and include multiple op-eds and a public book review. Click the links below to read a few of my op-eds and my book review on Jodi Magness's Masada: From Jewish Revolt to Modern Myth.

Here are my thoughts and opinions on Jodi Magness's book Masada: From Jewish Revolt to Modern Myth. I led the class discussion by posing a series of thought-provoking questions about Magness's writing style, her research methods, and her personal experiences as an archaeologist.

This is my op-ed titled. "Archaeology: Fact or Fiction?" in which I discuss Masada and other important archaeological discoveries

In this op-ed I discuss powerful and influential women throughout history.

This is my review of Anise K. Strong's book, Prostitutes & Matrons, a book about the women and their place in society in the ancient world.
