Public History
Seminar

In the summer of 2022, UWG partnered with the Princess Vlei Forum in South Africa to allow students learn about history in a different community. Students were divided into groups and assigned to different areas of the Vlei to improve upon. My group was assigned to create new signage which would improve public accessibility and tell the Vlei's history in a new way. Students also engaged in difficult discussions about how history is presented and practiced writing grants.

Each student created a project that would need funding. This is mine for an archaeology program I created called "Can You Dig It?"

This is my executive summary of my grant proposal, "Can You Dig It?"

Each team was assigned a portion of the Princess Vlei project. My team created new signage for the park so that the public would have easier access to the history of the park and read about other perspectives of the history.
